A stranger in the Chicago train station nursing station once left her baby with me for well over 30 minutes while she went to go eat. The child’s name was pronounced “Ab-zuh-dee” and spelled Abcde. No lie. I teach first grade in the south and have seen plenty of unusual names but nothing beats this (alhough SirPresident and K’Marte come close).
