Hippie-spolitation

I just have to tell you about the children of an acquaintance of mine: Indigo (boy), Jadziah (girl) and Atreyu (boy). I’ve been too afraid to ask what their middle names are. Their mother’s last name is Moonstone (gosh, you wouldn’t be Wiccan or anything, would you?).

Please don’t publish my letter on your site – Ms. Moonstone holds a place of honor in my community, and I would be in trouble if she knew how awful I think her kids’ names are. But I know I’m not the only one.

-(name withheld, so if you’ve got a problem, Ms. Moonstone, you can cram it. It’s called Free Speech.)

  1. Sarah B. says:

Jadziah (maybe without the H) is the name of a character on Star Trek: Deep Space 9.

  2. Silvercat says:

And Atreyu is from the Neverending Story

  3. Jadziah Moonstone says:

Hello there, I’m that kid with the “awful name” you’re talking about. I just wanted to let you know that you have the right to say whatever you want, but that personally I think that my name is unique and give me character. Aside from being the name of a character in Star Trek Deep Space 9 (as Sarah B. says above), Jadzia is a Polish name and as well as the name of several Polish queens Jadwiga (the Polish spelling) of Poland was a KING of Poland and she ruled from 1384-1399.
I just wanted to let you know that I rather like my name and don’t appreciate being made fun of over the internet.
Both my brothers have beautiful names. Indigo is a color (you wouldn’t mock a kid with the name Violet, would you?), and Atreyu is, as Silvercat said in the comment above, form the book The Neverending Story. Lastly, our last name is Moonstone, so what, it might be a little quirky, but then again who wants to be boring!
    Sincerely yours,
    Jadziah Moonstone
P.S. My middle name is Aphrodite. Just thought I would throw that out there for your personal mocking fun. You can tell me that you don’t like my name, but then again, I don’t know that I really like yours.
